Every year we set out to a huge moto adventure, where we discover new twisty roads and meet new riding communities. We had our eyes on Tail of the Dragon this year, but fate had set us in another direction and we headed to the big state of Texas.
Initial thought, Texas is hot, boring, and flat. Surprisingly, there are some very fun twisty roads out there. Including the iconic Twisted Sisters, 100 mile loop out in Texas Hill Country. One of the most interesting roads, it dips through water crossings that feel like a roller coaster and the road texture is something we've never felt before. With breathtaking views and fun sections, Twisted Sisters is definitely worth the trip.
After staying South West of Texas, we headed up to the city of Austin to see what the buzz about Lime Creek Road was about. LCR is a growing upcoming community and it was a honor to be there witnessing what's blooming there. LCR is a very fun technical road, closest road I can compare it to is The Snake on Mulholland Hwy. Sharp slow turns, residential area, short mile loop, and a few small straight aways. Not only that, during our days there, the riding community pointed us to many other fun roads all around the Austin area.
We attended many bike nights, meet so many people, and made new lifelong friends. If we could go back, we would in a heartbeat. Every new place feels like home. We will see you again Texas.
